A student of Notre Dame College was killed after being hit by a waste carrying vehicle of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) in capital’s Gulistan area on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Naeem Hasan.

The DSCC vehicle hit the student when he was crossing the road around 11:30pm, Mowdud Hawlader, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shahbagh Police Station, said.

He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared him dead around 12:15pm, the OC said.

Police seized the vehicle and detained the driver after the incident.
